Speech: Main Messages: Trieste Citizens’ Dialogue

Text of a speech by Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission, EU Commissioner for Justice, on 16 September 2013 at the Citizens' Dialogue in Trieste.

This event was organised as part of a series of debates that European Commissioners are holding all over the European Union. The aim was to discuss the future of Europe with the citizens, the national and local politicians and members of the European Parliament. Each debate is centred around three themes: the economic crisis, citizens' rights and the future of Europe.
