Speech: Germany: Chancellor Schroder’s 2004/2005 New Year’s Eve address

In his New Year's Eve address Chancellor Gerhard Schroder called for sustained assistance for the Asian countries struck by the tsunami disaster. He proposed partnerships for reconstruction that could be formed at the national level but also at local government and company management levels. He thanked the citizens of the country for the generosity they have shown in providing donations and other forms of assistance
