Speech by President Barroso at the 17th Tourism Summit

Text of a speech by José Manuel Durão Barroso, President of the European Commission at the Tourism Summit in Berlin, 2 December 2013.

In his speech, Barroso reminded of the mutually beneficial effects of tourism and European integration, and stressed in particular also the importance of the four freedoms of the Single Market for a flourishing tourism sector. He also underlined the economic importance of tourism and its role as an indicator of the European Union's growth performance and consumer confidence.
