SPD chiefs fear fall-out if Verdi strike is a failure

Leaders of Germany's Social Democratic party have warned that if Verdi, the country's largest trade union, emerges as the loser from the forthcoming public sector strike, the German trade union movement could face a dramatic loss of influence.
