According to official figures released in July 2013,
Spain's unemployment rate has fallen for the first time in two years.
The rate stood at 26.3% in the second quarter of 2013, down from a record 27.2% in the first quarter.
A strong tourist season was credited with boosting employment. Tourism accounts for about 10 per cent of Spanish GDP.
