Commentary feature which argues that the conflict between fans of the continental European social model and Anglo-Saxon capitalism and how this is resolved is much more important to the future of the European Union than the debate over whether or not Member States should continue to ratify the Constitution after the No votes in France and the Netherlands.

Opponents of Anglo-Saxon capitalism are making Europe's economic recovery less likely and reform more difficult. The author argues that these opponents do not deserve to be listened to and that as a result of their behaviour, Europe now faces a choice between continued failure and Anglo-Saxon capitalism, and he believes that if there is a choice they should choose the latter.
