The report presents the results of a peer learning activity organised by Cedefop in Lisbon in March 2006. The first part of the report provides a description of the methodology and a general overview of the meaning of social dialogue and lifelong learning in the context of the (renewed) Lisbon Strategy. The second part presents recent facts about the social dialogue process in Portugal and some challenges for the social partners in promoting lifelong learning policies in the country. The third part is devoted to presenting good practices at the sectoral and company levels developed in the textile, automotive and banking sectors by different stakeholders dealing with management of change and the role played by training provision. |
