Slovene commissioner criticised across the board

Reports of the hearing in the European Parliament before the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) on the 6 October 2014 for the European Commissioner-designate for the Energy Union and Vice-President-designate Alenka Bratušek from Slovenia.

On the 8 October 2014 the Industry and Environment Committees voted overwhelmingly against Bratusek - by 112 to 13 votes. Alenka Bratusek withdrew her candidacy on the 9 October 2014.

On the 10 October 2014 Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar nominated Violeta Bulc as EU Commissioner-designate.
