The European Union, Nato and Russia must hold multinational talks on US plans to install missile defence bases in central Europe, Robert Fico, the Slovak Republic Prime Minister, said on 12 June 2007. Mr Fico said the threat by Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, to respond to the US proposals by targeting nuclear missiles at eastern Europe showed that the question could not be limited to bilateral discussions between Washington and Warsaw and Prague. |
