Summary: The European Commission, together with scientists and policy makers, launched on 16 May 2013 six scientific clusters to support economic development in the Danube region. Each cluster was designed to provide scientific evidence to support the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and to encourage scientific cooperation in the regions covered by the strategy. The proposal was published by the European Commission in December 2010 and adopted by the Council of the European Union in April 2011, before it was endorsed by the European Council in June 2011. |
