Single Market programme: Internal Market Council, Brussels, 7.12.98. The Council reached unanimous political agreement on a common position concerning the Fourth Motor Insurance Directive. Unanimous political agreement was reached on a common position concerning the proposal to extend the producer's liability without fault for defective products to primary agricultural products and game, which were not included in the scope of the original Directive 85/374/EEC. The Council also held a detailed orientation debate on the proposed Directive combating late payments in commercial transactions. The Council discussed a first multiannual programme to assist European tourism following the failure of the proposed Philoxenia Programme. |
