Report of an interview with the Governor of the Bank of Turkey, Sureyya Serdengecti. He reported that Turkey is on the brink of achieving “sustainable” economic growth after the recession that followed the financial crisis of 2001, and may achieve single-digit inflation in 2005 for the first time in more than 30 years. He added that a big fall in inflation and a range of structural reforms were contributing to a fast-growing and more robust economy three years after the crisis of 2001.
