‘Sickening’ MH17 footage released on remembrance day

Families and friends of those who died in the crash of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 paid tribute on the 17 July 2015 to the victims a year on.

The Netherlands government had asked the UN Security Council to appoint a UN tribunal to deal with the shooting down of flight MH17 (this was vetoed by Russia in the Security Council on the 30 July 2015).

While doubts remained on who was behind the tragic incident, video footage was released on 17 July 2015 showing men in uniform searching through backpacks in an apparent attempt to find out who was on the plane, right after the crash took place.
