A new strategy, launched on 31 October 2013, will ensure that the United Kingdom is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities for using data. Seizing the Data Opportunity’ forms part of the Government’s ‘Information Economy Strategy’ which was published in June 2013. The strategy is a joined up approach between government and industry, making sure that there is a clear plan for growth across the UK’s information infrastructure. The Strategy was launched on the same day that the Government published its National Action Plan as part of the Open Government Partnership. The action plan outlines the government’s work to date on transparency and accountability, including opening up public sector data. Also published was the UK National Information Infrastructure. |
