Security Union: Commissioner Avramopoulos remarks at the launch of the 2017 EU Terrorism Report

Text of a speech by European Commissioner Avramopoulos on occasion of the launch of the 2017 EU Terrorism Report.

The Comnmissioner talked about the current threats EU is facing, mentioning the latest attacks in London and Manchester, but also Stockholm, Berlin, Nice, Brussels and Paris.

He also stressed the effort to counter radicalisation both online and offline:

+ offline, through the Radicalisation Awareness Network, an operational network;
+ online, with a partnership with internet industries in place through the EU Internet Forum.

Finally, he underlined the EU cooperation cooperation with key partner countries such as United States and the neighbouring countries (Turkey, North Africa, Western Balkans, Middle East).
