The second stage in deciding how to implement the Water Framework Directive in England and Wales was detailed in a consultation paper published jointly by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Welsh Assembly Government on 29 October 2002. This Directive, the most substantial piece of EC water legislation to date, requires all inland and coastal waters to reach 'good status' by 2015. Full documents available via Related Url.
