At a trilateral meeting of French, German and British leaders on 20 September 2003 in Berlin, Gerhard Schröder, Germany's Chancellor, is expected to seek the support of UK Prime Minister Tony Blair for a 'growth initiative' for Europe as a way of boosting the European economy. The idea of a 'growth initiative' was unveiled at the Franco-German Summit in Berlin on 18 September 2003.
