Gerhard Schröder, the German chancellor, and Milos Zeman, the Czech Prime Minister, on 20 August 2001 talked about their differences on nuclear power. The Czech Republic's running of Soviet-designed nuclear power plant Temelin causes concern in Austria and Germany. The two premiers yesterday agreed to continue a process under which Günter Verheugen, European Commissioner for Enlargement, is due to mediate.
