The Presidents of Russia and Georgia have agreed to resume discussions on the breakaway region of Abkhazia. The issue was one of the central points on the agenda at the first official meeting, February 2004, between Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Saakashvili since the Georgian leader was elected following his country's Rose Revolution in November 2003. |
