Romanian parliament bans smoking in bars and playgrounds

Romanian parliament's lower chamber approved on 15 December 2015 a ban on smoking in playgrounds as well as all indoor public spaces, including bars, restaurants and workplaces. The proposal also urges the public to be educated about the dangers of smoking.

Prior to this proposal, under consideration since 2011, smoking had been banned in state institutions, schools and hospitals.
