EUObserver and other sources reported on the European Commission's 10th Interim Reports on Progress under the Co-operation and Verification Mechanism issued in February 2012 that Romania and Bulgaria still needed to do more to tackle corruption and organised crime, in a message familiar since the two countries joined the EU in 2007.
