Changes are in store for Ritt Bjerregaard's cabinet.

The Environment Commissioner has decided to dismiss her only non-Dane, Hans-Georg Gerstenlauer, as well as Birgitte Bønding, best known because of an acknowledgement for her help in the front of Ritt's infamous and all-too-briefly published diaries.

A third cabinet member's contract is also drawing to a close and, Entre Nous has heard, will not be renewed.

The only newcomer so far is Jeff Huntington. The name is British (as are both his parents), but he is in fact very Ritt-ish, being the current environment supremo in the Danish representation. Having an environment specialist in the Commissioner's cabinet will be something of a novelty - until now Bjerregaard has insisted it was unnecessary, because the environment directorate-general happens to be packed with them.
