Rise of English national identity ‘threatening Wales’ place in Europe’

A study by two universities and the IPPR has warned that the rise of English national identity is closely tied up with Euroscepticism and is threatening the future of the UK in Europe.

Research by the Wales Governance Centre of Cardiff University together with the think tank IPPR and Edinburgh University found that more than half of English people who identify as 'more English than British' say EU membership is a 'bad thing' while less than a third of people who feel more British agree.
