Rights of Patients in the European Context, Ten Years and After

Abstract:

The article on patients’ rights in Europe in the first issue of this Journal (1994) was the first of a range of publications during the Journals ten years of existence.

Patient’s rights in European countries are based on common shared principles and common approaches, their implementation being adapted to the circumstances of each country. With the substantial increase in cross-border movements, the consistent interpretation and application of patients’ rights has become a European interest also.
