Review to look into claims of rules bias in Europe

Gordon Brown, the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, has set up a review to look at procurement processes in other Member States in an effort to address a long-standing complaint of UK manufacturers that they lose out from 'European rules applied unfairly to British firms' in bidding for procurement deals. The review is to be completed by Summer 2004.
