Killer Apps in advertising: what's coming next?Summary:This issue focuses on the EU boost for digital advertising startups. Looking at the shortlist of projects covered, the companies that will manage to stand out will clearly be those able to find the right balance between respect for privacy, non-intrusiveness, automation, personalised content and contextualised adverts. This certainly seems worthwhile: by 2020, analysts expect global digital advertising spending to reach EUR 264 billion. This special feature is followed by other highlights across nine thematic branches of EU-funded research: health, society, energy, environment, aquatic resources, industry, information and communication technologies, security and fundamental research. The magazine closes with a list of upcoming events hosted by or involving EU-funded research projects. Contents:Special Feature: Killer apps in adversiting: what's coming next? Health
