EurActiv writes upon the new report published by the Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe (ACARE) with the occasion of Aerodays 2011 (30 march – 1 April 2011), held in Madrid. According to the report, the EU aviation sector will reduce flight delays to just one minute regardless of weather conditions and cut CO2 emissions by 75% by mid-century.

The document, called 'Flightpath 2050: Europe's visions for aviation', sets out research priorities to preserve the EU's industrial leadership in the sector whilst meeting societal and market needs, protecting the environment and securing energy supply.
