Report says Wales gives more money to EU than it receives

A report from eurosceptic think tank Open Europe claimed in January 2012 that for every £1 Wales receives in European Union aid, £1.65 has already been contributed by Welsh taxpayers.

Open Europe argued that the UK would be better off running a regional aid policy itself instead of contributing to the Europe’s structural funds budget.
