Summary:Report published by the European Commission on 17 July 2023, concerning the implementation of the 2020 Berlin Declaration on value-based digital government. Further information:TheĀ Berlin Declaration on Digital Society and Value-Based Digital Government builds upon the 2017 Tallinn Declaration on eGovernment and seeks to take the user-centricity principles formulated then a step further. It commits to a digital transformation in the European Union (EU) based on fundamental rights, democratic values and ethical principles. The signatories of the Berlin Declaration set out to implement a number of policy actions by the end of 2024. This is the second report on the implementation of theĀ Berlin Declaration. It shows that Member States are improving in digital literacy and in introducing innovative technologies in their public services. However, it also concludes that they need to work more on social participation and digital inclusion, as well as on trust and security in digital services. |
