Summary:Report published by the European Commission on 10 October 2024 covering the implementation the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Further information:The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) was designed as a response to the economic and social effects of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. It was established in 2021 as the centrepiece of the NextGenerationEU (NGEU), the European Union's (EU) recovery instrument. It is time-bound until 2026, and it was established to help Member States recover from the aftermath of the pandemic whilst boosting the EU's resilience amidst the green and digital transitions. Over time, the RRF also adapted to new challenges, such as Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the ensuing energy crisis. This is the third annual report on the implementation of the Facility. It presents the state of play regarding disbursements, revisions of RRPs, audit and control-related developments, and communication activities amongst others (section 1); the progress in the implementation of milestones and targets across the RRF policy pillars (section 2); and an overview of the measures included in the Member States’ REPowerEU chapters (section 3). In annex I, country fiches outline the progress made in each Member State, whilst additional annexes focus on specific concepts relevant for the implementation of the RRF. The document was published by the European Commission on 10 October 2024. |
