Summary: Resolution produced by the European Parliament concerning the latest reports published by the European Commission on Montenegro. Further information: The report welcomes Montenegro's continued engagement in the European Union (EU) integration process and its overall process. It stresses that the latest elections were organised in full respect of democratic standards and calls on all political forces in the newly elected Parliament to engage in a constructive, meaningful and inclusive dialogue in Parliament. It also deplores the state of freedom of expression and media freedom, an area in which successive Commission reports have notedĀ no progress, and condemns all types of attacks against the media and intimidation of journalists. Finally, the document calls for the active engagement and appropriate inclusion of the Western Balkans countries in theĀ Conference on the Future of Europe. |
