Repeal bill paves the way for a removal of rights after Brexit

The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill began its second reading in the House of Commons on the 7 September 2017 as MPs returned from their summer recess.

The author warned about aspects of the bill. He said that the the bill fell far short of providing citizens and businesses with clarity and certainty. Instead, it paved the way for the modification and removal of rights that currently existed under EU law.
