Remarks by the High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini upon arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council

High representative / Vice-President Federica Mogherini explained that the meeting with the ministers of the Foreign Affairs Council, which started on the 3 April 2017 would be focused mainly on Syria:

A discussion on how to coordinate the work of the European Union with the UN special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

The subject of supplying humanitarian support to the Syrian region.

Political talks and the need to gather the international community behind the work of Staffan de Mistura in Geneva and get to a Syrian-agreed transition and political solution to the conflict.

As well as Libya there would also be a discussion on the conflict in Yemen from a humanitarian and political perspective.
