Remarks by Federica Mogherini at the press conference following the Ministerial meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean

On the 23 January 2017, the High Representative/Vice-President Mogherini co-chaired, together with Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the second edition of the Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in Barcelona.

This meeting aimed at breaking the circle of lack of integration and tensions and conflituality and invest in a coherent manner on more political dialogue and more regional integrational cooperation on very concrete fields of actions through our Union for the Mediterranean.

This meeting increased the political cooperation, increase the common work on concrete projects for regional integration and cooperation with a special focus on youth, and try to use this to create more stability and more peace in the region.
