Remarks by Commissioners Avramopoulos and King at the 3rd RAN High Level Conference

On 9 November 2016, Commissioner Avramopoulos addressed the Ministers attending the conference in order to express the necessity to tackle local radicalisation and its security implications and challenges which are felt at all levels and across borders.

Commissioner King praised the prevention work that the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) had been delivering. He also remarked the suitability of launching RAN Young given extremist recruiters' focus on young people and thus the necessity of providing the youth with a different and better perspective.
