The relations between East Timor and the European Union have been developed in the framework of the Partnership Agreement comprising members of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of States, of which the country is signatory.

The EU has supported East Timor's access to its market through the Everything but Arms initiative. It has also developed a training programme for Timor's Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry.

There is not a significant amount of trade between both sides, with Portugal being the only EU member state developing some kind of trade with Timor Leste.
