The plenary session of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) met in Brussels in march 2006. MPs from 35 countries discussed issues of common concern to people from both shores of the Mediterranean: the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, freedom of speech, respect for religious beliefs and development. This session marked the end of the European Parliament's presidency of the Assembly. |
