Summary: Regulation (EU) 2020/874 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 15 June 2020 - updating Regulation (EU) No 1387/2013 on the suspension of autonomous Common Customs Tariff (CCT) duties. Further information: Council Regulation (EU) No 1387/2013 presents a set of agricultural and industrial products for which the autonomous Common Customs Tariff is suspended. It ensures sufficient and uninterrupted supplies of certain products which are insufficiently or not at all produced in the European Union (EU) and avoids disturbances on the market for those products. The Regulation is updated every six months to accommodate the needs of the EU industry. Following a review of all requests from Member States, the European Commission considered justified the suspension for some new products. The proposal to update the list of products was tabled by the European Commission on 24 April 2020 and signed off by the Council of the European Union on 15 June. It was published in the Official Journal on 26 June. |
