Recession puts future of European biotechnology firms on the line

Norwegian biotech companies are this week welcoming an economic stimulus package that sets aside money to help small, hi-tech businesses. But all around Europe, the future of the industry is hanging in the balance, with smaller biotechnology companies fast running out of private funding and, increasingly, appealing to the state for assistance.
