Summary: This booklet is designed for anyone who is thinking of moving to live and work abroad – or else commuting daily to work in a neighbouring country, as a cross-border worker. It includes tips on looking for and applying for work in each European Union Member State, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. All these countries have an agreement to allow each other’s citizens to travel and work in any of the other countries. The booklet has been produced by EURES, the European jobs network, which was set up in 1993 to promote and put into practice the European Union’s principle of free movement of workers. EURES Advisers from each country in the network share their expert local knowledge to help jobseekers look for work in another country, apply for jobs, succeed at interviews, prepare the paperwork for living and working abroad, and settle into their new environment. |
