Abstract:

The EU-Canada Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) was approved by the European Parliament on 15 February 2017. The landmark trade deal, negotiations for which were launched in May 2009, was declared a mixed agreement by the European Commission in July 2016, thereby requiring ratification at the national level.

The European Parliament Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments has therefore compiled a briefing on the processes of ratification of mixed agreements in each of the EU's 28 Member States.
