Russian President Vladimir Putin was due to meet with the leaders of France, Germany and Spain in Paris on 18 March 2005. Mr Putin is keen to reinforce ties with the west, particularly as many heads of state and government are due to attend celebrations in Moscow on 9 May 2005 to commemorate the end of the Second World War. |
