Provisions on international relations in EU competition policy. Situation as of 1 January 2008

Globalisation presents major challenges for competition authorities around the world and requires close cooperation between them. The European Commission has therefore concluded numerous international agreements in recent years, both bilaterally and in the framework of international forums. This cooperation and the gradual convergence of
approaches which it naturally encourages are very much welcome.

In that context the European Commission has compiled this publication. It is a comprehensive overview of competition
rules in the international field, which I hope will be a useful reference for market operators and law enforcers.
