Tens of thousands took to the streets in Paris and Bordeaux on the 5 October 2014 to demonstrate for what protesters called 'traditional family values'.

Specifically, the march was triggered in part by a court ruling in September 2014 that allowed married lesbians to adopt their partner's child born through medically assisted reproduction or surrogacy that happened outside of France
