Summary: Regulation (EU) 2021/267 - signed by the co-legislators on 16 February 2021 - concerning the renewal of temporary measures aimed at helping transport operators and citizens who are unable to fulfil certain administrative requirements because of COVID-19 measures taken in the Member States. This is a text with EEA relevance. Further information: Regulation (EU) 2020/698 introduced specific and temporary measures applicable to the renewal and extension of the period of validity of certain certificates, licences and authorisations and the postponement of certain periodic checks and training in response to the extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak in the area of road, rail and inland waterways transport and maritime security. This initiative seeks to extend the possibility of temporarily prolonging the validity of those certificates, licences and authorisations. It follows on from similar rules adopted by Regulation (EU) 2020/698. It was put forward on 18 January 2021 by the European Commission. The European Parliament endorsed it on 10 February 2021, followed by the Council of the European Union on 15 February 2021. The Act was signed by the co-legislators on 16 February 2021 and published in the Official Journal on 22 February 2021. |
