Summary:

The European Commission put forward on 30 May 2018 a proposal setting up an EU Anti-Fraud Programme, aimed at supporting Member States' efforts to fight fraud, corruption and other irregularities affecting the EU budget.

Further information:

This programme is essentially expected to replace the Hercule III programme, and combine it with the financing basis for the Anti-Fraud Information System (AFIS) and the Irregularity Management System (IMS). It also intends to strengthen and streamline the existing support from the European Union to the effort to protect its financial interests and for mutual administrative assistance in customs matters.

The Programme would be managed and implemented by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). The proposal was launched in the framework of the Commission's initiative on the Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027.
