Summary: Proposal presented on 24 July 2019 by the European Commission establishing the position to be taken on behalf of the Union regarding the amendment of Annexes II and VIII to Protocol II of the EU-Pacific States Interim Partnership Agreement. Further information: The Interim Partnership Agreement between the European Union, on the one part, and the Pacific States, on the other part, establishes a framework for an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union and the Pacific States. Papua New Guinea, the Fiji Islands and Samoa are provisionally applying the Agreement. The Trade Committee deals with all matters necessary for the implementation of the Agreement. During its seventh meeting on 24 July 2019, the EPA Trade Committee is to adopt decisions (1) to amend Annex II to Protocol II of the Agreement in order to update the tariff classification and (2) to amend Annex VIII to Protocol II of the Agreement in order to update the list of Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs). |
