Summary: Proposal for a Decision put forward by the European Commission on 27 April 2021, which mobilises the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) in response to application EGF/2020/003 DE/GMH Guss. Further information: The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aims to provide support for workers made redundant and self-employed persons whose activity has ceased as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation, as a result of a continuation of the global financial and economic crisis, or as a result of a new global financial and economic crisis, and to assist them with their reintegration into the labour market. Germany submitted an application for a financial contribution from the EGF, following redundancies in GMH Guss GmbH in Germany. Following an assessment of this application, the European Commission concluded that the conditions for awarding a financial contribution from the EGF had been met. It therefore adopted a proposal for a Decision to allocate a financial contribution of around €1.1 million in respect of the application submitted by the German authorities. |
