Summary:Recommendation adopted by the Council of the European Union on 30 January 2023, focusing on adequate minimum income ensuring active inclusion. Further information:This Recommendation seeks to tackle poverty and social exclusion by promoting adequate income support, in particular by means of minimum income, effective access to enabling and essential services for persons lacking sufficient resources and fostering labour market integration of those who can work, in line with the active inclusion approach. This was first laid in the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR). The draft Recommendation was adopted by the European Commission on 28 September 2022, alongside a Communication aimed at supporting the assessment of distributional impact of Member States' reforms. The Recommendation was adopted by the Council of the European Union on 30 January 2023. It was published in the Official Journal on 3 February 2023. |
