This proposal concerns the application of Article 10 of Council Regulation (EC) No 597/2009 of 11 June 2009 on protection against subsidised imports from countries not members of the European Community.

This proposal is made in the context of the implementation of the basic Regulation and is the result of an investigation which was carried out in line with the substantive and procedural requirements laid out in the basic Regulation.

On 9 January 2012, the Commission initiated an anti-subsidy proceeding concerning imports of certain organic coated steel products originating in the People's Republic of China. The investigation found subsidisation of the product concerned, which caused injury to the Union industry. The investigation also found that it was not against the Union interest to impose anti-subsidy measures. Therefore, it is proposed that the Council adopts the attached proposal for a Regulation in order to impose definitive anti-subsidy measures on imports of certain organic coated steel products originating in the People's Republic of China.
